Swaziland Railway’s employment policy aims to attract, select and appoint the best talent possible for each position in order to enable deployment and utilization of skills and talent at all levels. “Fit for purpose” considerations guide the recruitment process to maintain a balanced, business driven and equitable approach to the recruitment. The use of contemporary varied recruitment tools enables SR to make balanced and objective recruitment decisions.

Swaziland Railway advertises vacancies internally and externally. Whilst first priority is given to internal candidates because of SR’s commitment to succession planning initiatives, external adverts are run from time to time in the print media and uploaded on the SR website.

As a result of the high volumes of job applications SR receives, it is nearly impossible to respond to all the applications individually. Consequently as a standard, if an applicant does not receive a response within 21 days of the closing date, this will mean that an application was unsuccessful.
